Movies According To Mischief – Downton Abbey

Downton Abbey Directed by: Michael Engler Cast: Michelle Dockery, Hugh Bonneville, Maggie Smith, Imelda Staunton I can actually remember back in 2009 the conversation being about Downton Abbey and how wonderful it was.I was 18, starting university and could not be less interested in the lives of an Earl and crew of servants in keeping his house spick and span. I had caught clips of it, and Heaven forbid the Mischief clan missed out on the Christmas Special! It was all they could talk about for the rest of the Christmas holiday! I was made to partake in the viewing of it, whist praising God that I was late and had missed the majority of it, and found I could not be more bored in my life (there was something about a car crash I think?). Since then this has been my opinion of Downton.Skip forward to early 2019, on…

Movies According To Mischief – Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood Directed by: Quentin Tarantino Cast: Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Al Pacino Just look at that cast list! Big names for an iconic director. And as I am a fan of things of a slightly more macabre genre, seeing characters like Sharon Tate (Margot Robbie) and a slight glimpse of Charles Manson (Damon Herriman) peaked my interest but also at the same time, I was aware this film wasn’t going to be about The Family or the Tate murders. However, for being at a loose end on a Sunday afternoon, this film is a great shout. I do enjoy Tarantino, he is one of the directors I know off by heart by simply looking at the film and how it is shot, much like Wes Anderson. I cannot also deny at when I saw the running time at 161 minutes, I thought this…

Movies According To Mischief – Fast & Furious: Hobs & Shaw

Fast & Furious: Hobs & Shaw Directed by: David Leitch Cast: Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Idris Elba Right this film is getting the shortest review possible, purely due to how ultimately miffed I am about it. Up until the last 20 seconds, this film was a good four star film. I literally walked out of that screen with my jaw dragging along the floor, until at least I got home. And even then, I was having my little rant! This film contains the biggest spoiler in history for those who are not lucky enough to have Sky Atlantic, and who are law abiding citizens who do not stream shows illegally and are forced to wait for the DVD boxset to come out.Yes, I am on about Game of Thrones. https://youtu.be/9SA7FaKxZVI Mischief Rating  4/5 (One of Five Stars for Ryan Reynolds).
